Victoria Milligan joins Dentsu Aegis Network UK & Ireland as Marketing and Communications Director

Dentsu Aegis Network has hired Victoria Milligan as Marketing & Communications Director for Media Brands, UK & Ireland.

In the new role, Victoria will co-ordinate the marketing and communications of Dentsu Aegis Network media brands, specifically Carat, Vizeum, iProspect, Fetch and Amplifi. She reports into Matthew Platts, the CEO of Media Brands for DAN UK & Ireland, having previously worked with him in the early part of her career at BBJ, which was sold to Aegis in 1999 and later became Vizeum.

Victoria has extensive experience of the media landscape having also worked at Mediavest and Walker Media, now Blue 449. During the last five years she has worked on the front line of media, writing articles and presenting on TV and radio. She brings this communications experience and a fresh perspective to her new role working across the group’s UK media agencies.

Victoria is the widow of Nick Milligan, the former managing director of Sky Media who died in a speedboat accident in 2013.  Along with her media work, she has given many motivational speeches, including a TedX talk, on the importance of resilience and adaptability.

Joining a new wave of ‘second careerers’, women returning to the industry after taking time out to bring up their children, Victoria is passionate about mental health and achieving a healthy work life balance, which Dentsu Aegis, in creating the role, is supporting.

Speaking on her new role, Victoria Milligan said: “I’m grateful to Dentsu Aegis for giving me this opportunity and recognising the transferable skills women like me bring to the workplace after a break. I look forward to being back in the media industry, and bringing a fresh perspective along with my communications experience. Dentsu Aegis has expanded considerably in recent years and offers a breadth of specialist capabilities. Clients can access these through each of the media brands and I want to help communicate this to the marketplace.”

Matthew Platts added: “Having worked with Victoria at BBJ, I knew of her great communication skills, energy and drive. At Dentsu Aegis we want to bring the outside world in and with her diverse experience Victoria does this along with a deep understanding of effective communication across different platforms. I am thrilled to be working with her again and excited about what she will do for our business.”
