All products are made from ECONYL®, a material manufacturer and product that sources waste inc. used fishing nets, waste industrial plastic, landfill and oceans garbage from across the globe to produce clean, sustainable, high-end threads for clothing Female founded La Bom is designed and managed by two women in Spain and the UK, sourcing the highest quality production from within the EU

La Bom, the Spanish/British sustainable swimwear brand for all active women, launches today in the UK and with the company launch it showcases a collection of active ready, fully recycled ECONYL® swimwear. It doesn’t matter if you prefer the beach, the woods, or just soaking up the sun during or post surf, La Bom, a new swimwear brand with a big mission, is thrilled to announce today that its new line of five supportive, sustainable, and streamlined pieces for both women at the top of their game or setting out on their first ever paddle board adventure, is now available.

The collection consists of five beautifully designed pieces: two tops, two bottoms and a rad one piece, all of which come in four nature inspired neutral colours; fall, forest, light and moss. Designed with extreme movement in mind using double layered Econyl, for support under the bust, and to give support during high impact movement, this collection was built for the women out to live life to the max.

La Bom is a unique swimwear brand, founded on the premise and principles of supporting the environment and women at the top of their game, or those discovering their game, through a high quality product that better represents their strength, talent and bravery. La Bom’s business is for women, to make every woman more comfortable taking a step outdoors, with 10% of their profits going to Free to Run, an organisation that provides women with a safe space to get into adventure sports.

Athene Macrae, Founder at La Bom said, “Having spent a decade working on sailing boats, I had witnessed the plague of plastic devastating marine life first hand. Bikinis were always the passion but through those years spent on the water, sustainability became the mission.”

Ruth McMenamin, Co-owner at La Bom added, “La Bom was created  noticing inadequate quality in product in the market for women in extreme sport as well as other inequalities in product design, visual marketing, UX and funding for athletes in outdoor sports.”

The small, inspired range of swimwear has been created with the sourced fabric made with ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon; created from waste such as fishing nets and industrial plastic sourced from landfills and oceans across the globe. La Bom is a ‘slow fashion’ brand, producing only small runs of each product to reduce unnecessary waste. It uses the entire roll of fabric instead of switching up colours to keep up with passing trends, only using recycled and/or compostable products for its packing and mailing solutions, keeping planetary costs at a minimum through its entire production lifecycle.

Ultimately, La Bom is creating swimwear for women pushing themselves to the max, so that they feel comfortable going outdoors, without fear that their clothes will let them down, but rather help them go all out whilst making good on the promise of respecting the environment the wearer is exploring, keeping it clean for future adventure craving generations.
