Tricker PR finds outstanding success at the CIPR PRide Awards

The Tricker PR Team was named Outstanding Scottish Small Consultancy in the PRide awards along with awards for best use of photography and low budget campaign.

Tricker PR has been named Scotland’s Outstanding Small Consultancy at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide awards. The Aberdeen-based firm also picked up the gold awards for Best Use of Photography and Design and the Low Budget Campaign categories in a hat trick of wins.

The judging panel, made up of PR industry professionals, stated, “Tricker’s entry stood out … It’s approach in working closely with staff to maintain professional development and to also broaden the range of services on offer in order to retain clients speaks to a mature business outlook and one which is a credit to the agency and its principles. Tricker is a deserving winner on every front.”

Beverley Tricker, managing director of Tricker PR, says, “To be awarded the title of Scotland’s Outstanding Small Consultancy is a massive honour. It shows that we are delivering excellent, creative and results-driven work in all regions of Scotland and that businesses don’t have to be based in the central belt to produce excellent results for their clients. I’m so proud of our team which never fails to go the extra mile.”

Tricker PR’s client base spans the UK and includes Standard Life Aberdeen (formerly Aberdeen Asset Management), The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, The National Trust for Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council and Scottish Women’s Institutes (SWI) for which Tricker PR picked up the low budget campaign award. The winning campaign saw SWI members knitting colourful jackets for black dogs – often overlooked by potential owners – awaiting rehoming in SSPCA centres. Judges praised the entry as being “highly innovative, truly inspiring and creative” and said that the use of “effective research to identify a strategic partnership proved central to the success of the campaign; a classic example of creative tactics and clever use of photography bring deployed on a shoestring, achieving impressive results.”

Tricker PR’s work with the food and drink industry was also acknowledged with the award for use of photography for a campaign to promote a Scottish rum which created a range of cocktails inspired by the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Judges said, “The campaign sparkles and fizzes with creativity and imagination, great use of research and planning to create a unique brand identity which leaps out of the page via the excellent photography and inspired cocktail list. It successfully generated great media interest and conversions to the website.”

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise the outstanding public relations work delivered across the UK. Winning a PRide Award marks out industry leader and demonstrates the value of PR to the wider business world. Over 950 entries were received on 2017 from public relations teams, consultancies and individuals across the UK
