TDC PR, the global communications consultancy serving the creative, design and tech sectors has appointed Rachel Bowen, former group account director of ScienceMagic.Inc (formerly The Communications Store) as director.
The senior appointment follows on from the agency’s continued growth in recent years and forms part of the business’ wider plans to scale internationally.
As part of her role, Bowen will be charged with overseeing the delivery of work for TDC’s roster of clients, which includes leading product design and innovation agency Seymourpowell, tech giant Panasonic, global brand design consultancy FutureBrand as well as prominent non-profit advertising and design association, D&AD.
Prior to joining TDC, Bowen headed up communications for The Crown Estate across its central London portfolio under her remit as group account director at ScienceMagic.Inc. Here, she delivered integrated services from brand strategy and influencer marketing to social media strategy and channel management. Bowen also worked on luxury international consumer brands and destinations including the Four Seasons Hotel, K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong, Michelin star and award-winning restaurants including Simon Rogan and his UK group of restaurants, ROKA group, Oblix in the Shard and Bao restaurants, as well as festivals including Taste of London.
Bowen was also a founding member of the Intersectionality Committee that led D&I efforts across the agency’s UK and US business.
Speaking of her appointment, Rachel Bowen commented:“I’m thrilled to be joining TDC PR at such a pivotal time – eight years on, the agency is developing at pace and I am looking forward to joining the leadership team in guiding the business through this growth phase. From evolving the services TDC provides, the international expansion of the agency and ensuring consistently excellent delivery for clients, there are lots of exciting challenges ahead that I am looking forward to taking on.”
Tim Duncan, founder and managing director, TDC PR commented: “Rachel brings with her a wealth of experience in brand communications and leadership which will prove invaluable to us as we grow. She also joins at a pivotal moment for the creative industries as a whole. Covid has shone a spotlight on the creators, artists, inventors and makers whose work we have often taken for granted but have relied upon now, more than ever, to not only keep us sane but to have a positive impact on society. PR and communications will play a critical role in supporting an industry that has, for years, tried to justify its purpose, despite the inherent value it brings. Rachel’s clear business acumen and expertise in delivering integrated campaigns will undoubtedly strengthen our collective of writers, former journalists, thought leadership specialists and industry communications professionals and enhance our proposition.”
