Oxford based PR agency Fortitude Communications has been appointed a delivery partner on a new apprenticeship scheme to help the sports industry generate content.
It has partnered with Ignite Sport UK, based at National League South club Oxford City FC, to help deliver the 12-month Junior Content Producer apprenticeship scheme.
The on-the-job professional training programme helps sports clubs, charities and businesses in the sports sector upskill colleagues or recruit new talent – and create regular content across multiple platforms. The programme includes training on social media scheduling and management, copy writing, content creation, video production, photography and media. Fortitude provide media and communications expertise to help deliver the programme which start next month.
Fortitude Communications was founded by Greig Box Turnbull, who is a former Oxford United managing director and Daily Mirror journalist. Its team also includes Talk Sport presenter and former Bauer Media editor Thom Airs, award winning sports editor Richard Tilley and former chief sportswriter Shaun Reynolds.

Ignite Sport UK is a registered training provider for sport and education qualifications which are delivered nationally. It holds main provider status with the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
Fortitude Communications has clients across a range of sectors including sport, corporate, tech and healthcare. They include TicketCo, Oxford United in the Community, London Broncos, Picker Europe and the Oxford Bus Company. It apprenticeship programme forms another pivot for Fortitude Communications after the company launched drone services during the pandemic.
