Raleigh-based agency Baldwin& won creative and media duties for Palo Alto-based client Opener. The company produces BlackFly, the first all-electric fixed-wing vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, which is in the late phases of envelope expansion and enhancement in advance of a general release.
Opener conducted the first manned eVTOL flight in 2011 and has since been perfecting its distinctive on tilt-aircraft, tandem-wing design, which forms the foundation for BlackFly’s exceptional safety and efficiency.
“We are incredibly excited to be working with such an innovative and forward-thinking brand. Not too many people get to say they are working with the future of flight and sustainable transportation,” said Baldwin& Director of Business Development Kat Belloir.
“Opener is leading the light eVTOL space in testing and development, and now we are laying the groundwork for a successful general product launch by working closely with a small, select group of early buyers; and the first delivery has already been made,” Opener CEO Ken Karklin noted. “Our innovative and proven tilt-aircraft architecture is unlike any other. Putting the reality of three-dimensional flight in the hands of the average person becomes more and more possible every day. Baldwin& is an ideal match to help bring this news to the world.”
Baldwin& will be working with Opener on all aspects of marketing to showcase BlackFly’s unique technology and make it more accessible to the public. The first work breaks July 24th both online and as part of the EAA’s AirVenture event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin
