CHIRPY LAUNCHES A ‘MOOD MOT’ WITH HEAD OF HAPPY FEARNE COTTON, GIVING FAMILIES THE SIMPLE TOOLS TO SUPPORT YOUTH MENTAL WELLBEING THIS AUTUMN

Youth mental wellbeing brand Chirpy launches new campaign for families, offering free wellbeing habit quiz and Mood M.E.N.D.S guide, verified by a paediatrician and a psychologist.

Chirpy, the pharmacist-formulated youth mental wellbeing food supplement brand, founded by sisters Emma Grace and Sarah Pontefract, can today announce the launch of the Chirpy Mood M.O.T – Mood.
On. Track. – a new campaign fronted by ambassador, shareholder, and Head of Happy Fearne Cotton. Just as families give their cars a once-over before winter, Chirpy is inviting parents and carers to give their family’s wellbeing habits a seasonal check-up, with a free, simple set of tools to help. This is signposted via a hero film starring Fearne, taking parents and carers through why a seasonal check-in matters, and where to start.

The campaign is timed to a key pressure point in the year. As the days shorten, many children and teens experience a dip in how they feel. The return to school, academic pressure, darker evenings, and ‘always-on’ digital lives can combine into a perfect storm, bringing low mood, anxious feelings, poor sleep and trouble relaxing or focusing.

The approach is rooted in the latest evidence. The Government’s recent independent review 2 into
mental health conditions, ADHD and autism, led by Professor Peter Fonagy, recommends protecting opportunities for rest, recovery and healthy development – from sport, play and time outdoors to better sleep and less screen time. Chirpy has always advocated for this holistic approach, with the Mood M.O.T putting that ‘back-to-basics’ thinking into practice.

How it Works

Parents and carers can take a short wellbeing habit quiz on the Chirpy website. It takes minutes, is free, and gives a snapshot of where their children’s routines are working well and where small changes could help. Everyone who completes the quiz receives a free Mood M.E.N.D.S guide: brain-healthy lifestyle habits verified by a leading paediatrician and a psychologist.

M.E.N.D.S – Mindfulness, Exercise, Nature, Diet and Sleep

  • M – Mindfulness: teaching kids to pause, undistracted, and notice the now. Just 3-10 minutes can help.
  • E – Exercise: one of the most powerful tools for mental wellbeing. Just 20 minutes, three times a week, helps improve emotional wellbeing.
  • N – Nature: time outdoors significantly lifts mood and calms anxiety. A few trips to green space a week offer a nervous system reset.
  • D – Diet: what children eat can really impact mood. Brain-boosting foods such as fruit and veg, nuts, fish, seeds, whole grains, herbs, spices and legumes all count.
  • S – Sleep: key for mood, focus and emotional regulation. Children aged 6-12 generally need 9-12 hours, while teens aged 13-18 need 8-10 hours.

Taking it to families, where they already are

At the heart of the campaign is a hero film shot with Fearne, in which she explains why this seasonal check-in is so important and guides families through the first steps. The film first lands on social across Fearne and Chirpy’s own channels, as well as through Fearne’s Happy Place brand channel, driving parents and carers to take the quiz and receive their Mood M.E.N.D.S guide. Carefully considered creator partnerships will extend the reach, while the Chirpy Collective – the brand’s panel of leading experts – will support with advice that aligns with the small, practical steps parents and carers can take to support their children’s mental wellbeing. The Chirpy website is also home to a growing library of free mental wellbeing resources, from meditations and yoga flows to expert advice, available to every family whether or not they take the quiz.

The brand behind it

Chirpy formulates evidence-based nutritional support for children whose mood, emotional regulation, sleep or focus suggest their brains may benefit from additional building blocks. The Mood M.O.T sits alongside Chirpy’s food supplements as part of their wider mission to build more good mood days for young minds.

Launched in May 2026 with two hero products, The Mood One and The Zen One, by sisters Emma Grace (Brand Marketer) and Sarah Pontefract (Pharmacist and Professor of Medicine Safety), Chirpy pairs consumer brand instinct and personal story with clinical credibility. Sales have skyrocketed month-on-month, in addition to a 67% subscription rate; 99% of customers state that they “would recommend” Chirpy to others. Listings have also been confirmed with two major high-street retailers, to be announced soon.

To help families take the Mood M.O.T further, Chirpy is also launching the Mood M.O.T Bundle, featuring The Mood One, The Zen One, a Chirpy Joy Journal and the Chirpy Audio Meditations Playlist, from £44.35 – available now online at wearechirpy.com.

“Autumn can be a tricky time for children and teens,” says Sarah Pontefract, Pharmacist and co- Founder at Chirpy. “The routine changes, the evenings get darker and there’s a lot going on in their heads. Chirpy’s Mood M.O.T is a quick, friendly way for parents to see what’s already working and where a few small tweaks could make a big difference. None of it is complicated, and all of it is free.”

“Parents tell us they want simple things they can actually do, not another thing to worry about,” adds Emma Grace, Chirpy co-Founder. “Our Mood M.O.T gives families a clear snapshot and a practical guide, verified by experts, so they can help their children head into the darker months feeling more like themselves.”
