Chromebook And Netflix Partner To Create A Series Of Mini Films For Superfans Ahead Of Sex Education

Series 2 Returning

Chromebook has partnered with Netflix Original series Sex Education to celebrate the return of the hit show on 17 January for a second season. Together, they have created a series of mini films called “Wouldn’t Happen with a Chromebook”, that have been developed by Ben Taylor (Director and Executive Producer, Sex Education).

Hugely popular across the world with students and other age groups, Sex Education was among the top 10 series in 2019 on Netflix in the UK . In Season 2 Sex Education sees the cast return to Moordale Secondary for a new term. Otis and Ola pick up where they left off in Season 1, but where does Maeve fit into the picture?

Chromebook’s partnership with Sex Education was born out of love for the show’s fresh, honest portrayal of teenage and student life. The mini films bring these all too relatable moments of discomfort into the world of computers via ‘Eric’s Presentation Meltdown and ‘Lily’s Countdown Crisis’. Set in previously unseen areas of Moordale Secondary, the Chromebook films give a sneak peek into the new episodes ahead and are the perfect Series 2 warm up for superfans (out 17 Jan).

In‘Eric’s Presentation Meltdown’ viewers will be left cringing while Eric’s presentation gets a reaction in all the wrong ways thanks to a computer virus. And that’s why he needs a Chromebook – they automatically detect and eliminate security threats, making virus protection software a thing of the past.

While in ‘Lily’s Countdown Crisis’, we pity poor Lily as her laptop’s weak battery lets her down and she misses out on tickets for the Nebula Galaxias event that she’s desperate to go to. That’s why she needs a Chromebook – they come with up to 10 hours of battery life.

Chromebook is the pay off in these scenarios and the solution to tech disasters we are all prone to in our daily lives at work, school and home. It keeps you out of hairy situations and is there for you when you need it the most. It works with you, via features such as long lasting battery life, six second device start-up, staying fast over time and virus protection. Chromebooks don’t crash and keep things stress free. You can download and watch episodes of all your favourite shows offline via the Netflix app on Chromebook. Watch Season 2 of Sex Education via your Chromebook from 17 January.

Ben Taylor, Sex Education Director and Executive Producer comments, “The show’s characters are constantly facing a crisis at home or in their personal lives, so it was really fun working with Chromebook bringing to life previously unseen challenges they have at Moordale, and specifically the technology fails we’re all familiar with.”

Graham Bednash, Google Consumer Marketing Director, UK comments, “We’ve loved partnering with the Sex Education team on this project. We love the show and It’s been a joy to work with the team. It’s a great way for us to reach our student audience and shine a light on the features of Chromebook.”

Chromebook  is also partnering with real superfans of the show to give away exclusive limited-edition Sex Education merchandise and a number of Chromebook devices. To be in with a chance of winning these plus a 12 month Netflix subscription, visit Instagram and keep an eye on #Chromebook.
