Independent agency CreativeRace have announced a number of key hires in 2020 to support the delivery of their growth plans, including expanding their service provision to include a dedicated PR and social integrated agency proposition. Despite challenging market conditions this year, CreativeRace have remained committed to propel the agency forward by investing in the talent to produce a world-class creative and digital offering, which will continue into 2021 as the agency seeks to grow the team through top appointments in core growth areas.

Key to the development of an integrated services offer is Rebecca Jones, previously Client Services Director at communications agency Finn. Rebecca has joined as Communications Director, a newly created role for the business. With over 20 years experience in PR, social media and influencer marketing, Rebecca brings an understanding of local and global activation, having led the development and implementation of strategic campaigns for many well known brands including head & shoulders, Pantene and John West, amongst others, which she helped lead during the 7 years she spent at Ketchum London and her 6 year tenure at Finn.

Bringing her extensive experience into her role at Creative Race will see the business develop their already award winning creative and strategic brand work into new marketing channels that help brands build trust with consumers so that they can punch above their weight.

Rebecca’s appointment arrives following other senior leadership hires in 2020, including Andrew Hovells as Strategy Director and Joel Kent as Group Finance Director.

Andrew has previously worked for top media agencies including TBWA and PHD media and has more than 20 years experience working on strategies and executions for brands such as WM Morrison, Castrol, ghd, and Nissan. His role at Creative Race is to lead client strategy, helping clients navigate their challenges by focussing on real life behaviour and logical brand solutions.

Joel is responsible for overseeing the strategic investment of the business navigating the expansion plans, having previously supported the significant growth of Home Agency for the past 6 years, helping to increase their turnover by nearly £14 million during his time in the business.

In a commitment to increase the agency profile and promote their Punch Above Your Weight proposition across core commercial channels, Lauren Blackburn has been brought in to head up the agency’s internal marketing. Lauren joins from Enjoy Digital, having also worked in marketing management roles at Mamas & Papas, Sherwin-Williams and Farrow & Ball.

As a result of increased client activity, the agency has also recruited Account Manager, Emma Singleton, to support the delivery of increasingly innovative and forward-thinking projects. Emma joins from Jaywing, having worked with brands such as Goodyear and University of Sheffield.

Speaking about the new hire’s and 2021 agency plans, Rob Shaw who was appointed as CEO back in September commented “We have ambitious plans for 2021 and beyond. The calibre of the hires we have made recently speaks for itself.  There will be more high-profile industry names joining us early in the new year and we finish 2020 announcing a raft of production roles that we will be bringing on board in the coming months across SEO, PPC, Digital PR, Digital Content and Account Management.  We are fortunate to work with clients that expect support from people at the top of their game and we will continue to attract the very best into the new year.”
