Jewellery becomes a story in UK artists’ retro-futuristic campaign

For the launch of UK artist Rainy Milo’s range of jewellery, Milo Mer, a mysterious, retro-futuristic world unfolds in Paris Dans La Nuit, a short film directed by Rémi Danino.

Rooted in Rainy’s love of storytelling and beautiful objects, the film subverts jewellery category codes by bringing to life the brand philosophy – creating pieces intended to feel like souvenirs of moments in time – through a cinematic lens. The script seems to be writing each moment of the film, predicting what will happen next.

Milo features throughout, but the star of the show is a pair of earrings from the collection, appropriately named The Star of the Show. A French narrator voices the script, whilst moody nighttime shots flicker between Milo on a rainy Parisien street and close ups of the earrings, to build an atmospheric, cinematic portrait of the collection.
