Spark Foundry, the Publicis Media agency that brings heat to brands, has announced today the hire of Marcos Angelides as its new UK Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Strategy, starting on Monday 23rd March.
Angelides’ new tenure will be to ‘supercharge’ the role of strategy and innovation to unlock growth for clients. He will be responsible for combining Spark Foundry’s cutting-edge data technology capabilities with designers and creatives to uncover fresh opportunities for the agency. This is hot off the back of the merger of Blue 449 into the Spark Foundry brand at the start of this year. Angelides will also be fostering the ‘spirit of a start-up, soul of a powerhouse’ agency ethos in order to provide the best all-round agency service.
Angelides will report directly into Lindsay Turner, the agency’s CEO. He joins Spark Foundry from OMD where he co-led a department of 14 people in his position as Managing Partner of Strategy. During that time, he was responsible for the strategic output of accounts including Google, Levi’s, Sony Pictures, Clark’s, Bacardi and Tourism Ireland. Angelides advanced OMD’s approach to innovation, particularly within the field of DOOH, where he spearheaded campaigns to expand the role of programmatic buying and dynamic creative. He was also a core contributor to the global roll out of a new planning process.
Marcos Angelides, Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Strategy, Spark Foundry said: “I’m very excited to be joining the agency as it continues strong momentum from the merger, especially under an inspirational leader such as Lindsay; the opportunity to work with her was a big factor in my accepting the role.”
Lindsay Turner, CEO, Spark Foundry, said: “I can’t wait to get Marcos stuck in with our clients and to join our senior leadership team. With Marcos driving our strategy and innovation, I can guarantee that we really will be supercharging our offering to clients. It’s a really exciting time to be joining the agency.”
Angelides is a thought leader in the industry and will be providing Spark Foundry’s clients with advice on the future of technology, generating actionable insight from data and injecting fresh ideas and creativity to their communication plans.
