Following a period of rapid expansion in the UK and a demand for VaynerMedia’s unique model across Europe, the office will act as an additional hub on the continent and allow the business to more effectively service clients in the region. The agency is known for its consumer-centric approach that integrates both creative and media under one roof and strives to remove subjectivity from the creative process – instead referring to feedback provided by social insights.
The launch comes alongside the announcement of senior hires joining the Amsterdam leadership team:
● Su May Tan Kool, formerly Group Brand Director at 72andSunny, joins as VP of Client Partnerships, EMEA.
● Martijn Lasonder, formerly Strategy Lead at GoSpooky, joins as Strategy Director and Post Creative Strategist.
The growing agency is already home to a wealth of strategic, creative and media talent from France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Belgium. VaynerMedia Amsterdam has also drafted in rising stars from its UK office, with George Godon and Isabel Nicholds joining the team as Media Director and Senior Strategist, respectively.
Commenting on the launch, CEO and Co-Founder of VaynerMedia, Gary Vaynerchuk, said: “When I started VaynerMedia, I knew that we would be all over the world and my dream at the time was that we would be in some of the most creative, vibrant cities on earth. Establishing the Amsterdam office achieves that goal. We are so proud and humbled to be opening here. The diversity of talent is clear and our unique twist on how marketing is done in a modern world will, I think, land incredibly well with both talent and clients in the country and wider region.”
Daisy Domenghini, MD VaynerMedia EMEA, added: “The momentum in Europe is really exciting and we’re delighted to bring in some great senior hires to help lead client growth in the region. Their expert knowledge of the local market and wider EMEA region, plus background in modern brand building makes them a great fit for an agency like VaynerMedia. We’ve already engaged with an appetite in the region for our modern approach to media and advertising over the past year, and I guess the secret is well and truly out now. VaynerMedia has landed and it’s our job to stay true to our model and continue building brands that bring the worlds of creative and media closer together.”
VaynerMedia’s expansion in the Netherlands is indicative of the agency’s rapid global growth. Having been founded in the United States in 2009, VaynerMedia launched in the United Kingdom in 2018. The company has boomed in the last four years particularly, with the expansion to Asia Pacific in 2019, which now has five offices across the region, Mexico in 2021 to service Latin America, and VaynerMedia Canada, located in Toronto, which opened in March 2023. Key clients in the UK include TikTok, Durex, Natwest Group, and WeWork with recent campaigns such as TikTok’s Duet Roulette, and Durex’s Fit Matters performing exceptionally well.
