The UK’s leading independent media agency, Medialab, has made several senior hires to bolster its Data and Marketing Effectiveness team, further enhancing the agency’s industry-leading, data-driven offering.
The agency’s Data and Marketing Effectiveness team has more than doubled in size in the last twelve months and accounts for 27% of its total headcount, demonstrating the agency’s dedication to data-driven success as brands continue to focus on data-driven services.
Tony Oakley joins as Senior Analytics Director from Adverity. He brings vast expertise and knowledge in ad-tech, digital, and client analytics and will be decisive in leading client onboarding to Apollo, Medialab’s cutting-edge marketing intelligence platform.
Declan Sharpe, previously at Google where he played a pivotal role in advancing its internal capabilities in the econometric modelling space, takes on the role of Principal Effectiveness Consultant. He will support the advancement of Medialab’s econometric modelling capabilities and enhance the delivery and analyses of brand and performance campaigns.
Anna La Placa joins as Director of Effectiveness, with over 15 years of experience in data analytics and modelling consultancy. Anna will oversee critical workstreams across all the agency’s client teams, support with the most complex briefs and be tasked with consolidating impactful insights and recommendations to clients.
These new hires come off the back of a period of exponential growth for Medialab, with the independent agency winning new accounts such as Save The Children, Standard Life and Hovis. The agency is also the UK’s fastest growing media agency in Campaign’s Top 20 UK Media agency rankings.
Will Davis, Chief Data Officer at Medialab comments: “Data-driven success is rooted in Medialab’s DNA and central to our client partnerships. These hires accelerate our ability to deliver brilliant client outcomes with market leading measurement.
Tony, Declan, and Anna will contribute to evolving and pushing forward our data-driven services, and their collective experience will be invaluable as we continue to deliver for clients.”
Tony said: “I am thrilled to join Medialab during such an exciting period of growth for the agency. They are at the forefront of offering data-centric solutions to brands, and I look forward to contributing to our continued growth and success.”
As well as Oakley, Sharpe and the new Director of Effectiveness, Medialab recently hired Harry Darlington from OMD UK as Strategy Director, Jess Talbot from Initiative as its Head of Planning, and Jon Manning as Director of Advanced TV.
