This week, Clarion launched a world first – in partnership with Aldi, created the world’s first-ever lickable Pigs in Blankets wrapping paper; a deliciously daring idea that’s captivated the nation and sent festive cheer (and flavour!) soaring.

Aldi came to us with yet another fun brief: how can we go big on the new Specially Selected Double Wrapped Pigs in Blankets. With Brits set to munch through an astonishing 561 million Pigs in Blankets this Christmas, we wanted to create something truly unforgettable, something that would cut through the festive noise.
Our team dove headfirst into bringing the concept to life. We worked hand-in-hand with specialist manufacturers, forming this unique paper ‘peel & lick’ paper with an irresistible smoky, savoury aroma and taste.



We rolled out a full-throttle PR and selective influencer gifting campaign, highlighting the novelty of the lickable paper. To sweeten the deal, we also brought in professional gift wrapper Louise Lewis, whose expert tips gave our playful concept a practical edge.
And boy, has the media feasted on this story so far… we’ve already secured hits in The Mirror, The Sun, a spot on ITV’s Lorraine, as well as lifestyle titles – not to mention splurge of interest across socials.
