Creative agency Cornett announce that it has named Dave Walker senior vice president, co-director of Brand Strategy.
He comes to the agency from Procter & Gamble, where he worked on some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Cascade, Crest, Dawn, Fairy, Oral B and Tide. Earlier, he worked on Long John Silvers and Kentucky Fried Chicken at Yum! Brands.
At Cornett, based in Lexington, Kentucky, Walker will work on A&W, Busch Light, Gannett, Keeneland, Lane’s End and VisitLEX.
He will report to agency owner and President Christy Hiler, as does his co-director of Brand Strategy and vice president, Jessica Vincent, who leads LEGOLAND, the Tempur + Sealy portfolio, UK HealthCare and the University of Kentucky.
“For nearly 20 years, Dave has been known as a progressive leader who sees around corners,” said Christy Hiler. “His core belief—simplifying the complex—will always be the future. His passion and equity are growing startups and growth-oriented businesses through brand-building fundamentals and innovation. His thinking will immediately benefit our clients and the agency as we scale.”
As brand director for Tide Cleaners at P&G, Walker built the foundation for a world-class franchise brand and the #1 brick-and-mortar cleaner in the U.S. Most recently, as VP of Brand Innovation for New Chapter, he built the engine to double the innovation output and re-establish the brand as the innovation leader in the natural supplement industry it created in 1982.
At P&G, he was given the CEO Award for his Whirlpool Alliance Award Joint Innovation. He also served as a P&G trainer for its Global Superior Copy & Communication Seminar, the cornerstone of brand marketing training at P&G.
