Fortnight Collective Wins Ad Age’s and Outside’s “Best Places to Work” Distinctions

Brand storytelling and strategic advertising agency Fortnight Collective has been named one of the Best Places to Work by two publications—Ad Age and Outside.

The Ad Age Best Places to Work 2024 list is an annual ranking of companies that lead the pack in factors ranging from pay and benefits to corporate culture and leadership. The rankings were revealed on Jan. 22 at AdAge.com.

Fortnight was listed as a top shop in the magazine’s “Agencies with Fewer Than 200 Employees” category. This is the agency’s second time on the list.

Perks of working at Fortnight include a recognition program that boasts financial rewards, wellness/fitness stipends, adventure gear and more. Fortnight also extends mandatory mental health days, winter Friday half days to allow employees a jumpstart on ski weekends, and an annual offsite retreat to Keystone Resort.

Ad Age’s list honors 50 companies that did a standout job over the past year as the ad business met with the challenges of an unsettled economy, changing media market and a continued tight talent pool. The winners reflect the highest overall numerical scores based on an analysis of questionnaires submitted by employers and survey responses from their employees. Scoring factors included employee responses on topics including pay, benefits and seven other core focus areas (75% of the score) and a company’s policies and practices on areas including pay, benefits, work/life balance, recruitment, training, and development (25%). Ad Age produces the list with research firm Best Companies Group.

“The 2024 winners demonstrate the value of giving employees competitive pay and benefits and designing optimal workplace practices to ensure great talent can do its best work,” said Dan Peres, Ad Age’s president and editor in chief. “Winning workplaces know that taking care of employees drives business success.”

Fortnight was also named one of the Best Places to work by Outside—for the third year in a row. The magazine ranked the agency No. 8 among 50 companies and several honorable mentions. Winning companies were all about keeping their employees happy—and not chained to their desks.

“Fortnight Collective puts the ‘life’ back in work-life balance,” Andy Nathan, CEO/founder. “We pride ourselves on our award-winning work, but we provide many great benefits outside of work for our employees because we believe that balanced lives create a better agency.” Fortnight’s clients include Noodles & Company, ONE Bar, Steamboat Ski Resort, and Odell Brewing Company.

Other employee perks mentioned included ski passes, travel stipends, up to 14 weeks of paid family leave, and custom swag. To cap it off, the entire agency flew to Mexico for a three-day trip for the five-year anniversary.
