Havas Market, Havas Media Group’s ecommerce practice, has announced the appointment of Jessica Chapplow to the newly created role of Head of Ecommerce.
Chapplow joins from KR MediaCom, where she was Head of Digital Transformation, responsible for growing and extending the unit’s digital specialisms as well as establishing robust and compelling product propositions. Chapplow worked across LVMH’s entire brand portfolio, spanning fashion, jewellery, leather goods, wines and spirits, and perfumes and cosmetics, to drive digital transformation, harnessing the latest techniques and technologies to better engage their high-net-worth and luxury target audiences.
In her new role, Chapplow will lead, manage, grow and evolve all aspects of Havas Market’s UK offering, fostering opportunities with new and existing clients and developing commerce media strategies to effectively deliver against client objectives and targets.
She will report to Paul Bland, who joined Havas Media Group as Head of Biddable Media in February of this year.
Selected for Media Week’s 30 Under 30 in 2018, as well as being nominated for Women in IT’s Young Leader of the Year award in 2019, Chapplow specialises in digital transformation, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and augmented reality. Prior to joining KR MediaCom in 2019, she held positions at Wavemaker and MEC, as well as working client-side in the marketing team at Tiffany and Co.
Havas Market, which launched in 2020, is an ecommerce offering which helps brands deliver seamless shopping experiences for their customers, offering end-to-end marketplace solutions across paid, owned and earned media. It sits alongside Havas Media and Havas Entertainment within Havas Media Group, following a reorganisation and simplification of the group’s UK offering earlier this year.
Paul Bland, Head of Biddable Media, Havas Media Group, said: “As an industry leader in retail and ecommerce marketing, who has led and shaped the strategic focus for multi-market brands, Jessica stood out as the obvious choice for this role.
“Jessica has a natural ability to deliver innovation focussed on business outcomes, meaning she will enable us to outpace the industry in our services.
“From Facebook shops, to onsite experience, through to marketplace media – Jessica’s already well accustomed to harnessing the breadth of capabilities we have in place, and she will be a valuable asset in guiding priorities and strategic direction for our clients.”
Jessica Chapplow, new Head of Ecommerce, Havas Market, added: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead Havas Market as Head of Ecommerce, and I look forward to building on my experience working at the intersection of technology, media and commerce.
“In a field as fast paced and dynamic as ecommerce, shiny object syndrome can be contagious, and all too often this leads to agility being prioritised over authentic customer experiences. With this in mind, I am excited to join an agency that is committed to driving meaningful outcomes. I can’t wait to start collaborating with our teams and, most importantly, our clients to navigate and nurture the growing ecommerce opportunity.”
