The Behaviours Agency Moves to Employee Ownership as the Business Approaches 20 Year Milestone

Manchester-based creative agency The Behaviours Agency has become employee owned, giving every team member a share in the company’s success and a direct voice in shaping its future.

As the certified B Corp approaches its 20th anniversary, founders Sue Benson and Dorina D’Ambrosio, have transferred 100 percent of their shares to a newly formed Employee-Owned Trust (EOT). Employees with more than 12 months’ service will now be eligible for a share of the profits, as well as tax-free bonuses, strengthening the agency’s commitment to putting its people at the heart of the business.

The move is set to build on the company’s success, while protecting its future as an independent agency. The news follows a successful year for the agency, with wins that include Yankee Candle, Music Magpie (AO), Charles Worthington and the Co-op.

Founder and CEO, Sue Benson, said: “Our success is very much down to our fantastic team, and we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve built together over the last 20 years. Becoming employee-owned creates a lasting legacy that reflects our B Corp values and gives our people a real stake in our collective achievements.

“Employee ownership futureproofs the agency, rewards our team and formally embeds our people into the structure of the business. Clients and colleagues have welcomed the news, and we’re excited for the next chapter as we continue to thrive as an independent agency that promotes intergenerational collaboration between experienced senior team members and talented young teams.”

Leadership and day-to-day operations remain unchanged, with Sue Benson continuing as CEO and Dorina D’Ambrosio as Creative Director. The Behaviours Agencyplans to build on the transition with new initiatives designed to support professional development, mentorship and creative innovation, ensuring its people remain at the centre of the agency’s continued success.

The team at The Behaviours Agency spans early-career creatives and senior strategists with decades of experience. Since launching in 2006, the agency has built a strong reputation for strategic brand planning and standout creative work across sectors including retail, home, lifestyle and automotive.

Brabners’ specialist EOT Team advised on the transaction supported by Partner, Stephen Hadlow, and Associate, Emma Norman-Jones.

Stephen commented: “Employee ownership is designed for business owners who want to secure a succession plan whilst preserving the independence and culture of the business.   The model is a perfect fit for the progressive team at The Behaviours Agency, which places human capital at the heart of its business.  We are delighted to have supported Sue and Dorina in their move to EO, joining more than 2,500 business in the UK now owned by an employee ownership trust.”
