Burger King have been named The YouTube FAB Brand / Marketer of The Year at the 22nd edition of the International Food and Beverage Creative Excellence Awards (The FAB Awards), bagging an impressive 4 x Gold FAB Awards and 2 x FABulous ( Best in Show ) Trophies at The Awards
The calculations included the brand’s performance at both the Creative Awards and the Effectiveness Awards.
Fernando Machado, Global CMO of Burger King said: “We are honored with the recognition of marketer of the year at the FAB awards. This is a very prestigious award. It means a lot to win with an initiative which aims to make our food better. We believe real food tastes better and that’s why we are focused on removing artificial ingredients from all our food items globally.”
Burger King, who broke Mars, Incorporated’s four-year winning streak, were recognized for their Moldy Whopper projects by their agencies: INGO / David Miami and Publicis Bucharest.
Fernando Machado accepted The Award “virtually” during the “online” Awards show on Thursday, 18th June hosted on YouTube. The Award was presented by Harry Walker, Sr. Industry Head, F&B at Google UK and YouTube.
The FAB Awards President N.Nayar said: “Burger King have achieved several nominations this year for outstanding projects across varied media channels. Their creative output has been truly phenomenal, coupled with scoring the highest number of points following our various judging sessions makes them very worthy winners of the YouTube FAB Brand / Marketer of the Year Award.”
Other notable winners at the show included Pearlfisher being named Design Agency of The Year and picking up a FABulous ( Best in Show ) for NOgroni. Drama Queen won the second Design FABulous ( Best in Show ) for Absolut Comeback / Recycle and the team of INGO/David Miami and Publicis Bucharest walked away with 2 x FABulous Awards for Moldy Whopper. INGO Stockholm also won The YouTube sponsored Agency of The Year Award.
The FAB Awards also revealed the full suite of their New brand Identity by leading Design Consultancy William Murray Hamm and also revealed their brand new Awards Trophies made out of recycled materials.
The 22nd FAB Awards were once again supported by Google UK Ltd, with YouTube acting as the sponsor of both The Agency of the Year and The Brand of the Year Awards.
YouTube hosted The 22nd FAB Awards Show online where all FAB Silver, FAB Gold and FABulous ( Best in Show ) winning projects were screened and announce.
The FAB Brand / Marketer of The Year Award was introduced in 2013, and has previously been won by McDonald’s, KitKat and Mars, Incorporated.
