Movember Nears Its Finale…But Is the Moustache Era Just Beginning?

As we approach the end of the month of ‘Movember’, it’s time to take stock and appreciate the beauty of the mighty moustachio. Whether you’ve been nurturing a wispy newcomer or sculpting a moustache with the conviction of a Victorian aristocrat, one thing is clear: this is more than just a passing trend.

When Product of the Year put it out to its online community – asking firstly whether moustaches have made a comeback in 2025 – 21% of respondents declared an enthusiastic “absolutely!” A very pragmatic majority were undecided, with a third (34%) saying “maybe.” A sceptical minority (14%) were a little more unsure voting for “not yet” and a solid 31% are clear it will “never” happen. Tache today, gone tomorrow…

And what do people think when they see someone sporting one?

Turns out, moustaches are cultural shapeshifters. Just 7% associate them with confidence, while 13% think they’re trendy. A hefty majority (45%) think they’re “old school,” but an equally spirited third of voters (35%) label them “hipster” – proof that the moustache somehow manages to be both nostalgic and achingly (or ironically) current in the eye of the beholder.

That’s a lot of grooming time, but how long does it all take? While two fifths (41%) of men spend 5–10 minutes getting themselves sorted each day and a quarter (26%) claim to be ready in under five, there are those who take it all a little bit more seriously. Just over 22% say they take a full 10–20 minutes and the smallest minority (11%) are into full ritual mode, spending 20+ minutes on their grooming regimens.

Fortunately, there’s a world of options out there to tame the face mane, with tools and potions to satisfy everyone from the minimalist to the maximalist on the grooming spectrum. The Bulldog Precision Tamer, released earlier this year, has become the go-to for turning unruly bristles into taches that are more distinguished professor than garden broom. The latest King C. Gillette Beard Oil refresh has been keeping moustaches smooth and photo-ready, while the Philips OneBlade Pro 360 upgrade continues slicing and edging with the energy of a tiny lightsaber.

The top innovators in this category are the brands that are reading the nuance in the room and responding with options aplenty. Whether your moustache disappears quicker than a rabbit in a hat on December 1st or becomes your defining feature well into winter, the point remains – male grooming products are growing in popularity and diversifying.

Be it confident, trendy or old school… no one size fits all and honestly, that’s exactly why 2026 might just be the Year of the ’Stache.
