Niamh Rogers, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Product of the Year
No two days are the same at the company known for putting FMCG brands and their products in the spotlight. From gathering entries to the next awards to exploring the bohemian delights of Camden, Niamh shares a sneak peek of what a day in her life looks like.
7am:
My morning starts in the way I imagine most iPhone users’ does, with a minor heart attack from that slightly traumatic radar alarm. Although as much as we all complain, there’s something quite energising about it.
8am:
After a light breakfast of Marmite and honey on toast – don’t knock it ‘til you try it – I embark on my journey from rural Surrey. Hopping on the bus, the train, a tube, another tube (yes, this is the Northern line so thank goodness for noise cancelling headphones), and before I know it, I’ve found myself in busy Camden Town (where our HQ is). I arrive at my desk, the same 10 Spotify songs get turned off, and the laptop is opened.
9am:
I usually begin my workday by opening my emails to check whether we’ve had any more Product of the Year entries and spend some time replying to various brands’ queries regarding entry interest. It’s less than a month till the deadline for the next awards so it’s a pretty busy time! Being in the midst of gathering these entries means keeping on top of capturing new product launches is vital. The holy grail of NPD? The Grocer. Flicking through the pages of launches and gathering them into a list is a weekly eye-opening task.

11am:
What notoriously pairs well with coffee? Expanding an influencer programme, of course! From organising goody bags packed with award-winning products, to connecting with influencers, and seeing content develop from concept to completion. This is all fuelled by that hot mug of Kenco Cadbury Mocha – A Product of the Year 2025 special – if you don’t know, get to know. A perk of the job!
1pm:
A handful of meetings, and many emails later, it’s time to package up some client gifting boxes. What’s inside these boxes you may ask? I won’t go into specifics, but have you ever watched Narnia? Yes, the contents is very similar to what’s on the other side of that wardrobe. The combination of client gifting, influencer goody bags, and competition giveaways, meant it didn’t take long before I was on first-name terms with the team at our local Post Office.
2pm:
Luckily for the stomach, but unfortunately for the wallet, Camden Town is a hub of fantastic lunch spots. With a thousand chicken shops amongst pretty much anything your heart desires, the greatest late afternoon task is trying to decide which shop to go to. And if you’re unlike me and don’t get too hungry by 2pm and end up in Bagel It because it’s a 30 second walk from the office, you’ll probably delight in the sheer variety.
3pm:
Keeping on top of filing our clients’ logo activations is a pretty mammoth job, and one which I often embark on post minor food coma. We love to see the creative ways brands weave our logo into their marketing activations – so much so, we log it in a big database. It’s good to keep an eye on.
6pm:
When 6pm arrives, I shut the laptop and head off to meet friends – the usual spot for us is Shoreditch. Especially in this heatwave, the bustling pub gardens are a real highlight (that’s if we’re able to get a table which as we all know, is quite a rare occurrence in central London!). With this in mind, I hop on the train back to Surrey ready for an early morning start.
