Bielski brings more than 20 years’ experience in digital transformation, data and product strategy and will be responsible for leading the 400-person strong agency in its next phase of growth. He takes up the role after three successful years as Managing Director of global digital agency, Croud, where he also oversaw delivery teams across EMEA and APAC. Prior to this, Bielski was Chief Strategy Officer at iProspect UK, leading product, technology, data and planning. In his 20 years in the industry, Bielski has also held several senior roles at agencies including Maxus, MEC and GroupM and has experience across a range of sectors including Retail, Financial Services, Travel, Telecommunications and FMCG.
Bielski will report to Niel Bornman, CEO of Publicis Media UK. He also joins the Publicis Media UK management team, working closely with sister agency leaders to maximise their collective capabilities, deliver greater value to clients and continue to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.
Niel Bornman, Chief Executive at Publicis Media UK, said: “Emil brings with him a wealth of experience in leading successful teams helping clients transform and grow their business. He joins Spark Foundry at a time of great momentum, and I’ve no doubt that his diverse skills and passion for technology and culture will bring valuable opportunities for our clients and all the talented teams across the agency.”
Emil Bielski said: “Spark Foundry has been on an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to take the reins and help forge a path for its next phase of growth. With the vast expertise and capabilities already in place, I believe the potential is limitless and am committed to shaping this agency into a place where both clients and talent aspire to collaborate and belong.”
Starting next Monday (25th March), Bielski replaces Pete Edwards, who is stepping down after four years as CEO to pursue a new opportunity.
Bornman continued: “I want to express my sincere gratitude to Pete for his outstanding leadership, commitment and for everything he has accomplished in recent years. He leaves the agency in excellent health, laying a solid foundation for its future. We wish him all the best with his next move.”
Pete Edwards said: “After leading Spark Foundry through four outstanding years of growth and strengthening our position amongst our peers, now feels like the right time for me to pass the baton on. I leave behind some of the best talent in our industry and will continue to cheer them all on from afar.”
