Publicis Groupe has appointed Eleanor Conroy to the newly created role of Director of Communications and Marketing for Publicis Groupe UK.
Conroy will report to UK CEO, Annette King, bolstering the UK leadership team line-up. She will oversee the communications teams across Publicis Groupe UK and lead collaboration and alignment across Publicis Groupe UK and its agency brands.
Her last role was at Global where she was the Communications Director overseeing all external communications for the media and entertainment business and its brands including Capital, LBC and Classic FM.
Conroy has 20 years’ experience in agency and client-side. In the media sector, she has been Communications Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, and has advised clients such as Associated Newspapers, JCDecaux, Outdoor Plus and Sky. She has also represented iconic brands in other fields, including Holiday Inn, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Microsoft and P&G.
The move to strengthen the in-house communications function comes as Publicis Groupe UK continues to deliver on its Power of One solution for clients and comes after new business wins such as BT, McCormick, GSK, Macmillan Cancer Support and E.ON.
Annette King said: “We are building a great story at Publicis Groupe UK and we’ve been looking for the right person to help us tell that story. Eleanor has a wealth of experience and the ambition and dynamism required to steer our communications as we continue to grow the business.”
Eleanor Conroy said: “The momentum and energy at Publicis Groupe UK is palpable. I’m looking forward to working with Annette and the team to nurture the communications expertise within the group and the agencies, and bring the Power of One story to life.”
Conroy starts at Publicis Groupe UK later this month (March) joining the Publicis Groupe UK ComEx team.
