Independent agency Rufus Leonard has boosted its strategy team with the appointment of Rosanna Covacich as brand strategy director.
Previously strategic client director at MSL Group, the Publicis Groupe integrated design and PR agency, Covacich has significant experience in both brand and digital strategy.
Reporting to Laurence Parkes, Rufus Leonard’s chief strategy officer, Covacich joins a strategy team that combines expertise in innovation, brand, and customer experience. She will initially be focusing on some of the agency’s key accounts including ODEON, London Stock Exchange Group and Lloyds Banking Group.
While at MSL, Covacich won and led projects for clients including BMW UK, for which it won a Holmes Report Gold Sabre award, GSK, Associated British Foods and Canon. Managing a team of seven, she also worked with Publicis Groupe agencies in New York and London on reinventing their offer and on pitches.
Covacich started her career in Australia as a research manager for Accor Hotel and Leisure Group before a five-year period working as a management consultant for Atos Origin and KPMG in the UK. She then moved into creative consultancy as a senior brand strategist at niche brand consultancy, Uffindell Group.
Her arrival at Rufus Leonard follows a year of significant investment in the agency’s strategy team, which has seen it double in size since Parkes joined from AKQA Amsterdam in April 2015.
Parkes said: “I’m excited to be running one of the most diverse strategy teams in London. As we continue to build on our reputation for combining brand and digital design, it’s essential that we have strategists that can make meaningful connections across marketing disciplines. Rosanna’s experience in brand strategy, business transformation and innovation means we just added another set of essential skills to the mix.”
