Siebert Financial Appoints Marketing Luminary Stefano Marrone as CMO

Marrone will direct marketing for all divisions of the financial services company, leveraging his unique ability to transform storytelling, design and emerging tech into marketing that resonates

Siebert Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: SIEB), has appointed marketing luminary and creative strategist, Stefano Marrone, as Chief Marketing Officer.

Stefano Marrone – Chief Marketing Officer , Siebert Financial

In his new role, Marrone will direct marketing for all divisions of the 55-year-old company – including Siebert.Valor, Siebert.SPS, and Gebbia Media – to advance the firm’s mission of “Financial Freedom for Everyone”.  With a focus on creative campaigns, AI-driven marketing, and brand development, Marrone is tasked with bringing media production and financial literacy together, leveraging the production capabilities of entertainment division Gebbia Media to build innovative content solutions that increase both financial literacy and client engagement.

Known for fusing storytelling, design, and emerging technology into marketing that resonates, Marrone brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial experience and commercial expertise to the role. Over the course of his 17-year career as a marketing/creative strategist, creative director and agency owner, he has collaborated with over 100 global brands, including Disney, Google, Meta, Nike, Coca-Cola, Ethereum, American Express, Visa, UBS and JP Morgan.

With a strong focus on finance and fintech, Marrone has built a reputation for imaginative storytelling in sectors not traditionally associated with emotional engagement, through bold, innovative work such as The Red Thread, an award-winning experiential campaign for UBS Asset Management; and J.P. Morgan’s digital campaign The Story of Trading, which recorded exceptional engagement for a financial firm, with more than 1 million traders engaged.

Spanning both consumer and B2B spaces, Marrone’s other notable work includes a nine-year-long brand development of the B2B arm of DeBeers; the award-winning Koko Kanu relaunch campaign Add some Aventure for the Campari Group, as well as a series of experiential activations for Nike in Paris and China. He also developed an highly engaging immersive campaign for EDF (15 million viewers engaged on a complex topic like nuclear energy) and several long-running branded content campaigns for UKRI/Innovate UK, the UK government’s research and investment arm, which increased channel subscribers by 2.5 times.

Most recently, as Fractional CMO at Siebert Financial, Marrone led a major rebranding initiative, rolling out a new website and launching new divisions including Siebert.Valor and Gebbia Media in a successful bid to drive brand growth and expand the company’s reach into younger and more diverse audiences.  The successful outcome of the rebrand led to his appointment as CMO.

Having started his marketing career in Milan at Leo Burnett’s B-Cube, Marrone went on to found his own visual storytelling studio, Nucco, in London in 2013. Having grown the agency into a multi-million dollar operation, it was acquired by production powerhouse Unit9 in 2016, with Marrone joining as a partner – a position he continues to hold.

Alongside his work as a marketing/creative strategist and creative director, Marrone lectures at institutions like NYU, Goldsmiths, UCL, and ESCP.  He also acts as a lead mentor for Google for Startups, and advises a slew of media and creative companies including  UNIT9; Book on a Tree, a storytelling agency creating content for children and young adults for clients like Disney and Penguin Random House; and AI-powered marketing innovation company Webidoo.

John J Gebbia, CEO of Siebert Financial commented: “Stefano’s ability to deliver fresh thinking has already energized Siebert Financial,” says. “He helped spark our rebrand last year, and we’re excited about his vision to engage the next generation of investors, which will keep us ahead in a competitive market.”

David Gebbia, Principal at Siebert Financial and CEO of Gebbia Media said: “Stefano’s commitment to modern content resonates with our goals. Bringing together media production and financial education under one roof is a rare advantage for a financial firm. His background in storytelling and AI will help us create dynamic content, bridging entertainment and financial literacy for clients of all ages.”

Kaj Larsen, Head of Military Investment and Communications at Siebert added: “Stefano has a gift for making complex topics like financial education feel clear and empowering. His approach will help us better support our veterans and active-duty communities.”

Marrone said: “I am excited to join a financial brand with such a rich history. Working with the Gebbia family has shown me how forward-looking leadership can reimagine a legacy institution. Combining Gebbia Media’s creative capabilities with robust financial education to engage with a younger audience segment is a powerful strategy. I’m honored to help shape the next chapter of Siebert Financial as we continue to innovate in an industry that strongly needs it.”
