The Shipyard, one of the nation’s fastest-growing independent advertising agencies, has named Patti Ziegler Managing Partner. Most recently serving as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Strategic Business Lead for the multi-billion-dollar Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Ziegler will now oversee a portfolio of clients as well as marketing and demand generation for The Shipyard – which now has 400 employees, and 245 clients in 35 states.
The Shipyard CEO Rick Milenthal comments: “Patti is one of the nation’s leading marketing executives with both top client and agency experience. We are so proud to have her lead marketing for The Shipyard and many of our clients. Her coming to The Shipyard feels like a homecoming as we’ve worked together earlier in her career and have always done great things together.”
Milenthal and Ziegler have collaborated in numerous ways throughout their careers. Ziegler notes, “I’ve worked with Rick and his team over the years and appreciate their approach to solving business problems as well as marketing problems. We approach opportunities with the same focus on creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and success.”
Scotts Miracle-Gro is the world’s largest marketer of branded consumer products for lawn and garden care with approximately $3.6 billion in sales. There, Ziegler was responsible for directing Strategic Business Unit activity and marketing. Leading a diverse team of professionals driving sales across all consumer sales channels including e-commerce for its leading brands, Scotts and Miracle-Gro.
Prior to Scotts Miracle-Gro, Ziegler held several leadership positions at the leading national digital agency, Engauge, acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2015. Her work there spanned a broad range of categories, including consumer packaged goods, retail, financial services, spirits, healthcare, restaurants, utilities, and tourism.
Ziegler’s appointment comes on the heels of The Shipyard’s recent acquisition of Fahlgren Mortine – the two-time reigning Mid-Sized Agency of the Year as designated by the Public Relations Society of America.
