BBH HIRES DEPUTY ECD TO DOUBLE DOWN ON CREATIVITY

Charlene Chandrasekaran returns to BBH where she started her career in 2010

BBH has made yet another hire in the creative department, this time naming Charlene Chandrasekaran as Deputy ECD. Charlene returns to her alma mater, BBH, where she originally joined in 2010 following the completion of the Watford Advertising Course. She worked at BBH for 5 years before heading to Droga5 with her partner Dan Morris where they made work such as Barclaycard’s ‘The Crystal Barn’ and Rustlers’ ’90 Years of Torment’.

She and Morris then joined The Or as Joint ECDs in January 2023 where the pair created work including the ‘Inspired By’ brand platform for ASOS, Taco Bell’s ‘See You Next Tuesday’, and a campaign for razor brand, Harry’s where a man intimately peels a satsuma in one go.

Charlene’s new role, alongside the ECD and CCO will be to set and uphold the creative vision, standards and culture across the department, lead and inspire our creatives, taking responsibility for their development and growth and drive innovative, culturally relevant work that builds our clients’ brands. She will report into Guimaraes.

Felipe Serradourada Guimarães, ECD at BBH said: “I grew up at BBH looking at Charlene as my creative competition. Always delivering work that I was jealous of and wished I had made. To now be able to have her as a creative partner is a joy and privilege. She’s an absolute creative superstar and a lovely human being. BBH in 2026 is a more powerful creative department with her joining. Watch this space.”

Chandrasekaran added: “I’ve learned a lot about myself this past year. My maternity leave has given me a lot of time to ponder on what I really want and need at this chapter in my life. It feels strange coming back to BBH after all these years, but I’ve got a really good feeling about it. I had my tarot cards read recently. It basically said my instincts were correct and that I was on the right path. What more convincing do I need?”

Chandrasekaran is also a WACL member and was previously a Member Board of Trustees of Sister Circle.
