Independent creative agency wins in a competitive review led by the brand
Independent creative agency Walrus has been named agency of record for Mojo® Energy Pouches, the alternative energy brand owned by global category leader Volt+Co™. Mojo is the flagship brand under Volt+Co’s growing portfolio of premium caffeine products – among them Upperdeckys™ – designed to integrate seamlessly into the modern lives of multi-source caffeine consumers.

The global alternative energy market is projected to reach $1.58 billion by 2030.
The win follows a competitive review led internally by Mojo. As its new AOR, Walrus will lead brand strategy and creative, while collaborating with Mojo’s existing partner agencies, independent media company Synergistic, and Acceleration Community of Companies who services Mojo’s PR, influencer, and social channels.
Mojo® Energy Pouches are a convenient caffeine pouch that consumers pop in their mouth to help achieve their perfect level of energy. Each pouch delivers 50 mg of caffeine naturally derived from green tea and the pouches come in six different flavors: Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch, Mint, Peach Watermelon, Sour Apple, and Cinnamon Churro. The brand is currently available in more than 28,000 retailer locations nationwide—including Circle K, 7-Eleven, and select Walmart’s, as well as DTC and Amazon—and holds 65% share of the energy pouch category YTD.*
The decision to bring on a new AOR comes as the brand looks to expand nationally. Mojo was drawn to Walrus for its track record of helping to scale brands at inflection points – brands like Colgate’s hello, Breeze Airways, and The Farmer’s Dog. The mandate for Mojo is simple: develop a highly memorable, scalable platform that makes the brand unmistakable and the choice easy.
Walrus’ first assignment is to create a fully integrated national brand campaign building on Mojo’s foundational work across distribution, packaging design, strategic positioning, and media. That work will launch Q3 of this year.

“Alternative energy is a fast-moving and increasingly competitive category. We needed an agency partner who would help us not only secure Mojo’s first mover advantage but dominate the category as well,” said Tiana Black, Director Energy. “Walrus is that partner.”
Continued Craig Neely, EVP, Marketing, “Volt + Co invests in tailwind categories, energy being core to that strategy. We are looking forward to the creative excellence and strategic rigor Walrus is going to bring to the Mojo business.”
“Walrus is just back from a Mojo onboarding at their Jacksonville headquarters. We were so impressed with what the Mojo team has built and what’s to come,” noted Walrus CEO Frances L. Webster.
