BBH Studios has promoted Sophie FitzGerald to the new role of Head of Black Sheep Studios, its award-winning live action and photography production arm. The move sees her take on responsibility for overseeing all productions that come through Black Sheep Studio’s doors.
FitzGerald has been Executive Producer at Black Sheep since 2022. Since then, she’s brought in numerous world-class independent directors and photographers to work on global productions for a variety of clients. Among the brands she’s Executive Produced for are Mentos, Samsung, Monzo, Tesco, BBH Health’s leading brands and, most recently, ‘Not Made By Gordon’ for Burger King, which ran across TV, print, out of home and radio.
FitzGerald cut her teeth at We Are Social’s in-house production studio, producing global campaigns for brands including adidas, Audi, Guinness, De Beers, Netflix, Major League Baseball and LEGO during her seven-year stint. She went on to join Sky as Senior Producer, producing campaigns for Sky Sports, before later joining Mother London’s creative agency The Or as Senior Producer.
Stephen Ledger-Lomas, Chief Production Officer at BBH London, said: “This is such a well-deserved promotion for Sophie. From directors such as Taso Alexander and Artur Wolgers, to Alfie Barker and Edem Wornoo, alongside photographers such as Mark Peckmezian and Ewen Spencer, Sophie has made Black Sheep Studios a destination for great talent, right at the heart of BBH.”
FitzGerald said: “Over the past four years, I couldn’t be prouder of the journey Black Sheep Studios has been on. From the very beginning, our passion has been championing incredible unsigned talent from around the world, giving independent directors and photographers the platform, support and belief they deserve to break through. When we see these Directors/Photographers then go on to be signed by incredible, world renowned UK production companies, it’s one of the most rewarding parts of that journey. It’s a reminder that there is an extraordinary amount of emerging freelance talent out there, all deserving of the opportunity to direct major campaigns and shape the future of our industry. We’re incredibly proud to play even a small part in helping to develop and platform that talent.”
