POD LDN supports CancerBae Classic with promo film for biggest charity tournament to date

Creative studio POD LDN is supporting CancerBae CIC with a pro bono project to help build hype for its annual CancerBae Classic youth basketball tournament in August.

Using footage from previous CancerBae Classics, the team at POD created an energetic, upbeat teaser film which captures all the excitement, professionalism and community spirit of the event, thanks to dynamic edits, polished colour grading and subtle motion graphics. The film is short-form, high-impact, and designed for multi-platform distribution – including the giant screens at London’s O2 Arena, where it is being watched by the 16,000-strong audience for the Super League Basketball Playoff Finals, alongside viewers watching via DAZN and YouTube livestreams.

Last year, POD LDN partnered with Dream Factory on a campaign film for CancerBae, which was set up by Will Wise, a former professional basketball player who was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2023. CancerBae Classic brings together elite under-12 basketball teams from across the UK to raise awareness and funds for CancerBae CIC and Cancer Research UK. Held in London for the first time, this year’s tournament takes place from 20 – 20 August 2026 and is set to be its biggest to date.

Will Wise, CEO and Founder of CancerBae CIC, commented: “Working with POD LDN has been an incredible experience for CancerBae. From the very beginning, the team understood the heart behind the CancerBae Classic and treated the project with real care, creativity and intention. What stood out most was not only the quality of the final videos, but the way the team captured the energy, colour, emotion, and purpose behind the event.”

“The CancerBae Classic is more than a basketball tournament; it is a movement built around hope, community, resilience and storytelling, and POD helped bring that vision to life in a way that felt powerful, polished and authentic. The turnaround was incredibly quick, but the work never felt rushed. The team listened, adapted, supported us through tight deadlines, and delivered content that we were genuinely proud to share across our platforms. Seeing the promo go live and help launch Year 3 of the CancerBae Classic was a special moment for us.”

“We are extremely grateful to POD LDN for believing in the mission and using their talent to help amplify something that means so much to our community. Their support has made areal difference, and we would be proud to continue building with them.”
