Leo UK promotes Andrew Long to Chief Creative Officer

Leo UK has promoted Andrew Long to Chief Creative Officer, effective immediately.

Long takes on the role after almost a decade with the agency, and following two-and-a-half years as Executive Creative Director.

Long joined Leo’s in 2017 and has risen sharply through the ranks. He was made creative partner in 2023 and promoted to ECD the following year. He has helped shape much of Leo UK‘s most recognised work and has played a pivotal role in the agency’s creative success and momentum over recent years. The agency was Campaign’s Agency of the Year for 2022 and 2023, and 2025 was Leo’s most awarded year ever.

At Cannes last week, the agency took home a Gold, Silver and two Bronze Lions for its work with McDonald’s. Long has led the creative output for McDonald’s in the UK for the past six years, overseeing much of the brand’s most celebrated work and helping build one of the industry’s most successful and enduring creative partnerships.

Carly Avener, CEO at Leo UK, said: “Andy is an exceptional creative talent and this promotion is a natural next step for him, and for Leo’s. He has been a driving force behind much of the different sort of work we’re making today, helping take our clients into more spaces and places than ever before. As we continue to build on our belief in Populist Creativity that gets people talking, there’s nobody better placed to lead our creative department into its next chapter.”

Long is one of the UK’s most awarded creative leaders, with more than 20 years’ experience creating work that connects brands with culture. As ECD at Leo UK, he has helped lead the agency’s creative output across many of its largest clients.

Andrew Long, Chief Creative Officer at Leo UK, said: “After nearly a decade at Leo, I should probably know better than to be surprised by what this place is capable of. But the ambition, optimism and sheer talent here still surprise me every day. It’s a huge privilege to step into this role and help lead Leo into its next era. As brands face an ever-growing battle for attention, ideas that get people talking have never mattered more. That’s what Populist Creativity is all about, and I wholeheartedly believe no agency is better placed than Leo to deliver it.”

Prior to joining Leo’s, Long spent three years at MullenLowe, creating award winning work for Knorr, British Heart Foundation and Persil. Before that, he spent seven years at M&C Saatchi.

Long’s promotion follows the news that Mark Elwood will leave Leo UK at the end of the year.
