Growth Leadership Star Chose Independence Over HoldCo Scale
Little Big Engine, the independent creative, production and branding agency, today announced that Ben Myers, former North American CMO of TBWA\Chiat\Day, has joined the agency as Partner.
Myers is a well-known star in growth leadership roles at the advertising industry’s most awarded and successful agencies. He spent three years as TBWA\Chiat\Day’s North American CMO, where he drove substantial organic growth and new business wins, such as Instacart, Carnival Cruise Line, Levi’s, Aperol, Wells Fargo, BNY, Instacart, and several others while contributing to the agency’s numerous awards and honors, including five straight years as one of Fast Company’s “100 Most Innovative Companies.” Prior to TBWA\Chiat\Day, Myers served as Head Of Business Development at Johannes Leonardo and Group Account Director at Droga5.
The move by Myers underlines the industry’s accelerating shift of highly sought-after talent leaving holding companies to join creative, innovation and performance-driven independent agencies. For Myers, the move was also personal, as he hails from Salt Lake City.
“Our agency model was built from the ground up by working closely with patient CMOs who are searching for a different kind of creative partnership,” said Patrick Maravilla, Founder & Executive Creative Director, Little Big Engine. “We’ve spent years figuring out how not to be a smaller version of the big agencies we left, but actually build a business that can deliver brand creative that can be held accountable for more than likes and impressions. We’ve been looking for someone like Ben for years. He will help us find the exact clients who are anxious to find what we offer and we could not be more thrilled.”
Myers echoed that sentiment and said he believes in the value of independence over sheer scale. “I love the energy that comes from seeing creativity’s impact on brands,” Myers said. “What Brandt [Lewis, co-Founder & Executive Creative Director] and Patrick have built gives me the opportunity to be as close as I’ve ever been to that impact, offering clients exactly what they need in today’s cluttered marketing landscape. I feel so honored that they’ve asked me to join a mission to always put clients first with creativity they can hold accountable.”
Little Big Engine, with about 10 full-time employees, continues to punch above its weight. In Q4 2025, the agency pulled in new business from pitching against much bigger agencies to win projects from Skyscanner, the travel meta search platform, Wise, the global fintech company, and Tovala, the meal delivery service; Advertising Age recognized the agency’s first campaign for Tovala, a spoof of dysfunctional government, in its November 2025 coverage of campaigns worth noting.
Little Big Engine is a branding, creative and production agency that delivers creative work that clients can hold accountable. In addition to Wise and Tovala, clients include global and national brands like Skyscanner, Growth Energy and Edible Arrangements and challenger brands like Kuru Footwear, Purple mattress, Chirp, Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter, Pura and Kizik.
