CLAIRE HILTON APPOINTED CHIEF BRAND OFFICER FOR THE VIRGIN GROUP

Furthermore, Andrea Burchett appointed Chief Loyalty Officer and Managing Director for Virgin Red as part of broader leadership changes

Virgin Group has today announced changes to its executive leadership team – including Virgin Red – which sees Claire Hilton appointed Chief Brand Officer for the Virgin Group effective 1 September 2023. Claire has been responsible for the Brand team for the past three years, and before that, worked at Barclays for 16 years in brand and marketing.

Additionally, Andrea Burchett is appointed Chief Loyalty Officer and Managing Director for Virgin Red effective 1 September 2023. Andrea has been with Virgin for 18 months, bringing a wealth of experience developing loyalty programmes, having spent 17 years at International Airlines Group where most of her time was spent at Avios in commercial, brand and marketing.

Andrew Swaffield, Virgin Red’s CEO and CCO of the Virgin Group is stepping back from the day-to-day business to move into semi-retirement – whilst taking on the new roles of Non-Executive Director for Virgin Red and President of Virgin Enterprises Limited.

“I am very grateful for the strategic guidance that Andrew has given to me over the past six years, and for his leadership of the Virgin Red, Commercial and Brand teams – to see Virgin Red grow from a mere idea to what it is today is an impressive execution of a well-defined plan.  I’m delighted Andrew will continue to work with us in his new roles of Non-Executive Director for Virgin Red and President of Virgin Enterprises Limited.”

Two further appointments are being made to Virgin’s leadership team:

  • Joe Margison joins the V team as Chief Commercial Officer, where he will be responsible for operational and financial performance across the investment and brand portfolio. Joe has been with Virgin for seven years and brings extensive experience in driving commercial performance of businesses, including our real estate investments.
  • Luigi Brambilla joins the leadership team as MD, Portfolio Investments & Capital Markets, where he will be responsible for the strategic management and structure of capital in Virgin Group’s portfolio of investments. Luigi has been a senior and valued member of the investment team since joining Virgin 10 years ago.
