Cornett’s Momentum Continues by Hiring Jamon Deaver as Director of Marketing

Full-service advertising agency Cornett has hired Jamon Deaver as director of marketing—agency owner and President Christy Hiler announced today. Deaver has more than 15 years of marketing experience and brings the agency a range of leadership and brand-building capabilities—including strategy development, copywriting, art direction, public relations, creative ideation and execution. He will split his time between Chicago and Lexington.

Deaver is a proud Kentuckian who has lived in Chicago for the last 13 years. Nearly eight of those were spent as associate creative director at global public relations powerhouse Golin, where he developed smart, innovative and disruptive work to enhance the reputation and relevancy of clients including McDonald’s, General Mills, Walmart, Humana, Lipton, Teva Pharmaceuticals, GSK Flonase OTC, and more.

Most recently, he was director of client experience at SimplyBe., a boutique marketing agency that specializes in personal branding. In this role, Deaver led the account team and provided strategic thinking, collaboration, and processes to drive work excellence and help the shop’s day-to-day business run smoothly.

As director of marketing, Deaver’s primary focus will be strengthening Cornett’s brand relevance and recognition in the industry with a heavy emphasis on increasing awareness in the Chicago market. He will lead and manage prospecting efforts to attract new clients, partners and projects. He’ll also contribute to earned ideas and strengthen plans for garnering consumer press for Cornett and its clients.

“His Kentucky roots, magnetic energy, creative mindset, Chicago market and agency experience—from my first conversation with Jamon, I knew we had to find room on our team for him,” said Hiler. “Cornett has been in business for over 30 years, but we just recently came onto the national scene. Jamon spotted our momentum and caught our vision quickly. He’ll help us keep our foot on the gas.”
