gyro Manchester has hired Kate Pickering to the new role of Head of Content as it boosts its offering for clients.
Pickering joins the agency from Dentsu Aegis Network’s sister agency, John Brown Media in Manchester, where she was Director of Content Planning for three years.
In her new role, she will lead gyro Manchester’s growing content team as the agency responds to demand from its existing and new B2B clients. She will oversee everything from content strategy through to content development and evaluation for clients.
At John Brown Media, Pickering worked with a number of brands including Thomas Cook, Holland & Barratt and Toast. Prior to that, she worked at the BBC as Senior Development Producer across digital platforms for CBBC, leading the development of content for games, apps, TV, AR and wearables for the children’s TV division.
Steve McCarron, Managing Director of gyro Manchester, said: “gyro’s expertise lies in understanding often extremely complex B2B customer journeys and being able to leverage content that is relevant and compelling to particular audiences at the most pertinent moment. Adding Kate’s expertise to the team means we are in great shape to service our existing clients and to grow this strategic and creative capability further.”
Kate Pickering said: “It’s such a great time to be working in the B2B space. Business audiences are evolving – we’re seeing them expect the same levels of customer care and service as consumers do from the big disruptors. Content is a hugely powerful opportunity to win them over and build relationships and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
