Leading brand design agency, Lewis Moberly, has launched a new initiative, LM +, towards developing a more sustainable business.
The agency commitment to sustainability started fifteen years ago with its first environmental policy. The policy set out principles based on creative and responsible use of resources. Since then, Lewis Moberly has created award-winning, sustainable packaging designs, most notably the Drinks Business Green Award for ‘Best Supply Chain Innovation’ for the Edrington Snow Grouse bottle design. Lewis Moberly continues to advocate these principles with clients, partners, and employees.
Lewis Moberly’s sustainability initiative sees the agency formally commit to a Net Zero carbon management programme, in consultation with a partner agency. The programme is firmly rooted and aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards 2030.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals which are an urgent call for action by all countries in a global partnership.
One key area is tackling the effects of climate change, and the responsibility to manage carbon emissions. Net Zero goals, aligned with science-based targets, are an attainable way to take immediate and intelligent action on business emissions. Engaging everyone within the company, and clients, helps develop awareness of how we can all positively contribute to the challenge of climate change.
Mark Tosey, Head of Production and Sustainability Lead at Lewis Moberly comments: “This latest sustainability initiative is our most important – committing to a Net Zero carbon programme and aligning our business with the sustainable development goals towards 2030. When we change our behaviour, our environment changes. Each contributive action we take in our immediate locality can make a difference on a global scale.
We have limited time to take appropriate action and the private sector has a very important role to play. It makes good business sense too, and we are proud to embark on this initiative at the start of 2023.”
Mary Lewis, Creative Director at Lewis Moberly added: “Plus’ is our added extra. It is what we do beyond what we do. How we care for the planet, our people, our future, and our heritage. ‘Plus’ is a driving force within Lewis Moberly and an active collaboration with our partners.”
Co-founded by Robert Moberly and Mary Lewis, Lewis Moberly is the only design consultancy to hold both the top award for Design Effectiveness (DBA Grand Prix) as well as the top award for Design Excellence (D&AD Gold). With a strong diverse client portfolio, Lewis Moberly has designed brand identities for Moët & Chandon, Johnnie Walker, Waitrose and Selfridges.
