MEC, a leading media agency, has promoted Kathryn Saxon to the newly created role of head of research, David Fletcher, MEC’s Chief Data Officer announced today.
The appointment reflects the increasing need from clients for insights that help make direct strategies relevant for a world of ever increasing complexity.
Saxon, previously MEC’s Research Group Consultant Director, has worked at MEC for ten years, joining as a Consultant and rising to Group Director with a seat on MEC’s Digital Strategy board. Since then MEC’s Analytics and Insight team has gone from strength to strength and now has over 35 people.
During this time, Kathryn has built a reputation as an outstanding technical specialist, who adds value from the first meeting. She brings strategic, evidence-based solutions to both new business and client projects. She has recently led the roll out of MEC’s Webtrack product and GroupM’s new insight and planning resource, ‘LIVE Panel’ across the UK.
Kathryn has also successfully merged the research and social insight teams into a combined unit to deliver a centralised insight hub drawing on both new and traditional research methods to fuel the agency’s strategic thinking and measurement briefs.
David Fletcher, said: “Under Kathryn’s leadership, our Research and Insights team has grown into a standalone, market leading proposition, which delivers leading edge technical and strategic thinking to clients.”
