The appointment is the first senior hire by Chief Creative Officer Carren O’Keefe, who joined the agency this summer.
Digitas has bolstered its creative credentials by hiring Eric Chia as the agency’s first ECD of Design. The appointment is indicative of the agency’s commitment to craft, and its focus on bringing technology and design closer together to drive connections and impact for clients.
Chia will oversee visual design craft for the agency and brings world-class skills and experience following two decades at agencies including BBH, Publicis.Sapient, R/GA, Wieden + Kennedy and Media.Monks, where he was Design Director and Head of Design.
Chia’s portfolio spans a wealth of local and international brands including Nike, Google, Airbnb, McLaren Auto & Racing, Audi, Sony and Johnnie Walker. He has picked up multiple awards throughout his career at all the major shows, including a Grand Prix at Cannes for the interactive film, Philips ‘Carousel’.
Carren O‘Keefe said: “Eric is a true master of his craft. He has an infectious passion for creativity, and a real talent for fusing tech and design to create beautiful, impactful work. I can’t wait to watch him bring the transformative power of design to all our work and clients.”
Eric Chia said: “I am obsessed with craft and how design plays a vital role in our everyday life. Carren and the team at Digitas really understand the impact that great design can have, and I’m looking forward to working with all the different teams in the most connected way to further elevate our craft.”
