Leading Georgian wine brand, Tbilvino, has appointed Clarion Communications to raise awareness with both trade and consumers in the UK.
Following a competitive pitch process, the WPP-owned communications agency has been appointed to deliver an integrated creative communications campaign that puts Tbilvino, Georgian wine, and the winemaking region of Kakheti firmly on the radar of trade and consumers.
Managing Partner, Clare Sutton, says: “Many people don’t realise the long and rich history of winemaking in Georgia – there’s archaeological evidence that shows wine has been made there for the past 8,000 years. Georgian wine is really starting to make waves in the UK and we’re delighted to partner with a premium brand, leading this revelation, and now take it to the next level.”
Co-owner of Tbilvino, George Margvelashvili, who runs the winery with his brother Zurab, says: “We were seriously impressed with the passion and creativity of Clarion. They really understand our challenge and we’re confident with their wine expertise, as well as incredible media and influencer contacts, they can support our mission to make Tbilvino the number one Georgian wine brand in the UK in both volume and positioning.”
Berkmann Wines distribute Tbilvino wine in the UK. The organisation helped to facilitate the pitch process and Brand Manager Greta Megroff says: “Not only did Clarion’s media and BWS expertise stand out, but so too did their enthusiasm – and commercially-driven ideas. We are confident that together we can take the trade and consumers on this exciting journey with us as we fly the flag for Georgian wine, and specifically the ‘king of Georgian grapes’, Saperavi, as we drive sales and listings of Tbilvino’s wines.”
With this new appointment, Clarion adds to its growing wines division, which includes clients such as Aldi, Champagne Lanson and Portuguese wine company Vicente Faria.
