New app created by We Are Pi launches with epic mixed media promo film by Henri + Diego through 1stAveMachine
Today beer brand Desperados launch the world’s first dance powered reward app, that turns dance steps into epic party rewards & donations.
All Desperados fans need to do is download the Desperados Dance Club app, available on Apple and Android, turn on the pedometer on their phones, dance more to get more. This unlocks exclusive party rewards like tickets, vip access, artist merch and more. The app also allows party goers to join forces with their friends, create their own squad, dance together and earn collective rewards. For the most socially conscious, even a donation to charity is part of the rewards.
The app – created by Amsterdam based We Are Pi and developed in collaboration with Robot Kittens – launches with an epic high energy, fast paced promo film directed by Henri + Diego through 1stAveMachine.
The bombastic 35″ spot is a mixed media visual spectacle blending live-action and animation in a unique visual style. It accentuates the juxtaposition between the live action world, the app UI and glitchy lo-fi VFX, and using animation, colour and graphics, the film matches the bright and bold aesthetic of the app.
Rick Chant, ECD, We are Pi added: “Desperados Dance Club innovates by gamifying the dance floor. It’s a brand experience that hacks the technology already in everyone’s pocket and rewards participation with the things Desperados fans love. Whether you’re dancing for free beer, free tickets or to raise cash for causes close to your heart Desperados Dance Club unifies the party scene, brings people together and help everyone unlock the unusual.”
Henri Aragunde, Director said: “It has been such a great experience to work with so many talented dancers and choreographers celebrating the weird, the fun and the spiritual coolness, basically what club and party dancing is about.”
Rewards include access to an exclusive playlist selected by creators, free Desperados, meet and party with favourite artists behind the booth, secure a ride home (or to the after party) or support for worthy causes by donating to charity with crazy dance moves.
The campaign will run online and social media in Europe and regional Africa for one year.
