M&C Saatchi appoints Mark Newnes as Deputy MD after year of unprecedented growth

M&C Saatchi is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Newnes to Deputy MD with immediate effect.

Newnes has been with the agency for nearly eight years and has been promoted from managing partner where he led both the NatWest and Royal Mail accounts in combination with broader agency-wide responsibilities. Previously to this he led the Department for Work and Pensions, Rail Delivery Group and Department for International Trade business.

Commenting on the promotion, CEO Giles Hedger said, “Mark is a natural leader, the perfect role model for account management, and a key part of our succession plan. Clients love Mark because his honesty and calm efficiency are the perfect antidote to the times we live in.”

Mark will report into managing director Tom Firth. The role has not existed at the agency for the past four year. However, significant growth at the agency and the new leadership team structure means it is now required.

Mark added: “I’m delighted to take on this position, during what is an exciting year for the agency.”

The promotion follows a year of significant transformation for the agency, unprecedented new business growth and the bedding in of a new leadership team including Raquel Chicourel as new CSO and Kate Bosomworth taking the role of CMO.
