The Gate has appointed Peter Bennett to the new role of Executive Director – Media.
Bennett joins the agency to boost its full-service offering across a range of clients and to provide media planning and buying services to other group companies within MSQ Partners
Reporting to Luke Mugliston, the agency’s chief executive, Bennett will join the agency management team and take responsibility for its media department, with a particular focus on new business.
Bennett was previously Managing Partner at Havas Media, where he spent 14 years. During this time he was part of small management team that led their digital transformation programme whilst also leading the largest client team at Havas Media, with responsibility for more than £80 million in billings.
Having started his career in the media department at WCRS in 1991, Bennett also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was part of the team that launched The National Lottery for Camelot. He moved to Havas Media in 2000 where he continued to work on some large and successful brands such as TUI, Magners Cider (IPA Effectiveness award), Kia Motors, Nationwide Building Society, Emirates Airlines to name a few.
Luke Mugliston said: “The full-service offer is more attractive than ever. Especially for companies of a particular size, who are after joined-up origination and implementation and don’t like paying for, and managing, multiple agency partners. Peter is a Premier League addition to our team, who really shares our commitment to commercially-oriented solutions and client service. We are delighted to have him on board.”
Peter Bennett said: “There is a renewed demand for the full-service offering and The Gate is in a fantastic position to capitalise on this because it has always considered creative and media are better together. Adding data and technology capabilities to the full-service model ensures greater precision in serving the right content, at the right time, in the right context, to the right consumer. On a personal note, the familiar feel of an agile, fast-moving agency with character seemed a natural and attractive place for me to be.”
The Gate’s clients include PDSA, Chiltern Railways, Honey Monster Foods, Stonewall and National Accident Helpline.
