Wunderman UK, a leading global digital agency and a WPP company, has hired James Irvine as managing partner following the growth of several key accounts.
Irvine will be responsible for realising the future ambitions of clients and advancing the business’ talent in the areas of creative, data and technology. His appointment comes as the agency expands key accounts including Microsoft, Shell and BT. Irvine moves over from integrated creative agency VCCP Kin where he was head of account management.

At VCCP Kin, Irvine was part of the management team who led an agency of 85 and responsible for delivering work to easyJet, Nationwide and More Th>n. He said: “I was inspired to join Wunderman because of its commitment to delivering great experiences; whether that’s to a client, a client’s end customer or a staff member. I am looking forward to joining this great team and making future-ready work.”
Wunderman UK is celebrating winning a spot on Shell’s global Agency of the Future roster, as well as the successful deployment of its digital loyalty programme for Samsung across 30 European countries.
Last year, Wunderman won several high-profile accounts including the joint BT-EE direct marketing business. The same year, it consolidated its UK portfolio (Salmon/Wunderman Commerce, Acceleration, POSSIBLE, Burrows and Cognifide), bringing the business’ full capability under one roof. The agency recently acquired commerce experience agency Gorilla Group, expanding its full-service offering further.
