Ahead of this summer’s anticipated match-up between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees in the the Mitel & MLB Present London Series 19, event promoter, CSM have collaborated with fellow Chime agency, VCCP on a series of social films featuring comedian Jimmy Carr.
The comedic spots, which purposely juxtapose the overt and eccentric tropes of American sport and culture, with the natural wit and cynicism of the English public, are intended to promote the event and engage audiences from across the UK and form part of a wider campaign managed by CSM
The social films, which launched online on June 7th, each see Jimmy Carr working with an over enthusiastic American director, desperate to put his star-spangled stamp on things.
Joe Laing, Director of Communications at CSM said: “Baseball should be fun and accessible. We wanted to create a series that would engage, educate and entertain new and existing fans as build up to the games at the end of the month continues.”
VCCP’s Content Director Andy Gill said: “It was a brilliant opportunity for us to bring these films to life for such a ground-breaking sporting event. From choosing the perfect British talent, to creating our all-American set, it’s been a lot of fun creating three laugh-out-loud episodes that will truly announce MLB’s arrival in London.”
