Truant London celebrated the launch of their new brand by hosting a new music showcase, Unruly, at Redon in Hackney.
The showcase, devised by the agency as a way of celebrating ‘the freshest music talent in the UK today’, saw a raft of Warner Music artists perform a series of freestyle battles with those represented by Truant Music, a new arm to the business headed by Jemma Skidmore that specialises in music strategy and experience. Reprezent Radio were the MC’s for the night, and DJ Karistocat provided the soundtrack in between the live acts.
The night also saw Truant announce the first artist to be signed to the new Truant Music roster, Ayanna. You could hear a pin drop during her stunning solo performance, and the agency promised further performances from the 19-year-old very soon.
Chris Jefford, co-founder of Truant, said: “We didn’t want to just have a launch party, we wanted to create a credible music property that could live on. Our new music arm provides an amazing opportunity for us to support local and up-coming talent across genres, and in Unruly we feel like we’ve created something that can become a staple of the new music scene in London.”
