Wavemaker has won the multi-stage pitch of international fashion group ESPRIT. In competition with a group of other well-known global agency networks, Wavemaker landed the global double-digit million range budget. This means that Wavemaker Germany will continue to lead planning and buying of TV, out of home and print in Germany, and that the agency’s remit will be expanded internationally to include Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Belgium and China.
Moreover, the win also hands ESPRIT’s digital accounts over to Wavemaker, including all channels from programmatic over affiliate, social and search, to online video and brand display. The digital business will be managed by Wavemaker for ESPRIT’s 15 European e-shop markets and partly China. To handle this, Wavemaker will deploy an integrated team of 20 specialists to reflect the new internal structure of ESPRIT’s marketing team, where branding and performance measures no longer are planned separately.
“We have built a great relationship with the Wavemaker team over the past years and trust that by expanding our strategic partnership to a global level and across all channels, we will leverage synergies, increase speed and optimize our media planning process”, said Vincent Jeanniard, SVP Head of Global Marketing at ESPRIT.
“We are very pleased to have retained and expanded our cooperation with ESPRIT. The mandate for Germany has been with Maxus since 2015 and the Wavemaker team, under the leadership of Managing Partner Marion Jelinek, was able to impress ESPRIT with their passion and entrepreneurial spirit, resulting in a significantly expansion of the business,” said Matthias Brüell, CEO of Wavemaker DACH.
