An App That Wakes Sleepy Drivers Up, Directs Them To Nearest Coffee Place

Drowsy driving causes more than 100,000 car crashes each year.

To help curb the numbers and help travellers get to their destination safely, Thai coffee shop chain Café Amazon—with the help of creative agency BBDO Proximity Thailand—has created an app that helps wake up sleepy drivers.

With the use of eye- and face-tracking technology, the app called ‘Drive Awake’ is able to detect when a driver is dozing off while behind the wheel.

When a driver starts to doze off, the app will wake the drowsy driver with a loud alarm, and navigate him/her to the nearest Café Amazon for a coffee break.
