The independent creative agency CULT announced the opening of its newly-located Dumbo office and on-site content studio, the second in its growing business. With Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder Bridey Lipscombe as the figurehead, the new office continues to work as a strategic partner to its US-based clients and will act as an extension of CULT’s London office which has just reached its six-year milestone.
This market expansion is a direct consequence of the on-going relationship between the agency and its well-established client base in the US. CULT originally opened in NYC last August and after 12 months testing the waters in the Big Apple, the agency has maintained a strong demand for its services with existing clients, and seen keen interest from prospects in the USA. After six successful years in London, leapfrogging teams across the pond, the launch of CULT NYC marks a significant milestone for the agency and plays a key role in its plans for continued growth in 2019.
Joining this new offering as Head of Production is Ruben Musca. His role will be to oversee all US productions both on-site in the purpose-built studio and on location. Previously at Silverback Strategies where he was Director of Video, Musca will report directly into CULT’s COO, Caroline Westgate and work closely with her and ECD Matt Watson to further establish the New York based creative team.
CULT Founder and CSO, Bridey Lipscombe, said “Since our launch in London in 2012, our consistent ambition has been for CULT to be a strategic partner to the world’s most progressive brands. With an increasingly global client base, the pursuit of this ambition has led us to expand into one of the world’s most exciting markets – NYC. The opening of CULT NYC has been an important step in our expansion. Ruben joining us, to lead our on-the-ground production team is a great achievement for CULT; we’re on the lookout for talent and experience that will help brands succeed in the USA.”
Cat Turner, Chief Creative Officer and Founder said: “Arguably one of the most creative cities in the world, NYC is reflective of CULT and our fast-paced culture. Opening in Dumbo specifically was important to us – we want our team to be in the heart of this energetic and inspiring city. It’s been wonderful for us to work there over the past 12+ months and we’re excited for the new location to spread our wings. Ruben joins us with a great pedigree, having spent the past ten years working with major brands across the US. We required a strong creative and strategic thinker to head up production in NYC and Ruben’s energy has brought a vision which is essential for our US clients. As our US portfolio has grown over the past few years, we’ve continued to invest in our US outfit, branching out into new areas reflective of the fast turn-around expectations of digital content and our clients. Ruben’s appointment marks a new phase of Cult NYC which Bridey and I are very excited about.”
Ruben Musca, US Head of Production said of his appointment: “It’s exciting and energising being able to work alongside some of the best creative minds in the industry. New York offers a wealth of creative opportunity and dynamic clients that we’re excited to partner with. At CULT we’ve always turned incredible ideas and creative vision into reality, and as head of production, I’m looking forward to continuing this tradition of creating amazing, immersive content and experiences for both clients and consumers, and bringing it to New York.
Matt Watson, ECD added: “Being in a position to launch the NYC office with a big client partnership in place is testament to the spirit, drive and unique vision that CULT brings to its clients. It’s what attracted Ruben and I to join this independent offering. CULT’s mission – to create content that drives client growth – will undoubtedly set us apart in the US. We see this as a huge opportunity, and we intend to move with energy and pace to really make CULT NYC a huge success. These are exciting times for the Agency.”
CULT NYC’s new office and studio opens its doors officially today, Tuesday 13 November where it will continue its award-winning work with Coty’s Sally Hansen and new clients: Amazon Fashion, Nike and PepsiCo.
