Ford Ad Campaign Challenges Passers-By To Lift A Trophy Like A Soccer Champion

As Ford is sponsoring the 2014 UEFA Champions League Final in Portugal, the ad agency Wunderman has helped them “look” for the next generation of soccer champions by placing a trophy on the streets.

A challenge was issued to the public to see if they could lift the trophy just like a UEFA champion—although no one knew that the trophy stand had an electromagnetic mechanism which only allowed children to lift the cup.

The stunt proved to be amusing, as a team of soccer players would run toward the child who lifted the trophy, celebrating his “victory”—as though he had just won the championship.

Funny and heartwarming, this creative campaign aims to spread the message that anyone can be a “champion”.
