Humorous new PETA spoof points out that milk is for babies, not adults

A grown man careers around London on a tricycle, asks a stranger to feed him baby food and burp him, plays with his food, sports a nappy, and swigs cows’ milk – it’s not a wacky new reality show but PETA’s latest video, available here, that highlights the absurdity of drinking milk after weaning.

The prank video urges viewers cringing at the exploits of this man-baby to ditch dairy “products” and go vegan, stating, “It’s time we grew up.”

“Humans have the embarrassing distinction of being the only species on the planet to drink another animal’s milk and to do so into adulthood,” says PETA Director Elisa Allen. “PETA hopes this video gets some laughs while also serving as a wake-up call to grown-ups that drinking a cow’s mammary secretions is as inappropriate as asking to be burped.”

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – notes that vegan milks made from soya, coconut, almonds, oats, and hemp are an age-appropriate, healthy, and delicious option for thirsty humans.

They contain none of the artery-clogging animal fat and cholesterol of cows’ milk, which also often contains traces of pus and bacteria from cows’ infected udders.

In addition, these drinks spare female cows a lifetime of being forcibly impregnated and regularly separated from their babies until their bodies give out and they’re slaughtered for cheap meat.

This video is PETA’s second anti-dairy collaboration with top London creative agency Don’t Panic. The first video, known as “Dog Milk“, has been viewed more than 10 million times.
